For the 13th edition of Manifesta in Marseille, the parallel program « Traits d’union.s » aimed to highlight current societal and urban transformations. In this context, the project proposed a public speaking space in Marseille: the Speakers’ Corner. By offering a platform for various forms of expression, fostering exchanges and self-narration, the intervention sought to encourage all citizens to reclaim urban space. Designed and operated in collaboration with local minority advocacy groups — including those supporting people with mental health issues, the homeless, and ethnic or sexual minorities — the installation regularly hosted events such as speeches, readings, workshops, and theatrical or musical performances. Additionally, the Speakers’ Corner remained open and accessible at all times for spontaneous speeches, establishing itself as a platform for collective exchange and expression.
